Ruby Tuesday

It's been a while since I participated in any blog or photo memes so I thought I would try to ease back into it.  What a better one to start with than Ruby Tuesday.

Earlier this month on the 9th, I took a tour of the Polaris Experience Center in Roseau, MN.  It's basically a little tourist shop and museum of Polaris memorabilia.  The building was an old creamery that they converted into a couple different shops and restaurant.

BTW, I used to work for Polaris in both the manufacturing plant and plastic injection molding plant.  Great place to work and visit :)

Below is the second machine Polaris manufactured in 1956 (model Sno-Cat)

This one was built in 1963 (model L60).

This was 1970 (model X2)  which was built to beat the record for speed on snow.

More next week...hopefully.

Thank you for visiting.  To visit more Ruby Tuesday posts click here.  This meme is hosted by MaryT/The Teach at Work of the Poet.

I loved seeing the old Polaris machines! We had a huge hummer in the backyard under a tarp for years. I think my step-brother finally dismantled it when he made his gocart -- that really weeeeeent!

This was really interesting. I was going to google Polaris but by the time I got to the end of your post I figured out that you were talking about snow mobile manufacturing. I have never heard of them. I guess that is what comes of growing up on the California coast.

The snowmobiles look a little like Santa's sled! :)

I would never need a snow mobile in sunny Singapore! I would love to try a ride on one.

The oldest of these machines looks like a transitional sled - just not powered by dogs. I prefer these oldies, they aren't aerodynamic or sleek, they have an honest look of a functional vehicle in the Northlands...MN is a beautiful state, BTW!
