Miscellaneous thoughts

Why do people have to argue so much? It doesn't seem to matter what the topic is, someone is gonna argue? It can be something as simple as a prayer for peace or as complex as interpreting Scripture.

Why does my fat cat (Nollie) seem to think she has to eat non-stop?
Every time I turn around that girl is at the feeder. I have taken to shooing her away. Meanwhile the other cat has lost weigh and barely eats.

Why are teenage boys so moody? I swear my is as moody as I was as a teen. Whomever said boys aren't as moody as girls lied to me! I think it's just the teen years. One minute he's cheerful the next he's glaring at me and for nothing. Teens more than babies need instruction manuals.

Why are the Democrats forcing DeLay to remain on the ballot? Why don't they want the voters to have a real choice in candidates? It seems stupid to force his name on the ballet when he doesn't want the job and is probably going to jail. Stinky politics are usual.

Where do people come up with the ideas for fundraisers for charity? Masturbate for charity?!?! I don't think so!!! http://tinyurl.com/z6cyo. According to the article some churches are supporting this. Sickening.

Why does Smokie (Samyoid/Husky) hate thunder and rain so much? She is terrified of thunder. Today when she went outside she felt maybe 3 drops of rain and refused to stay outside. BIG BABY!!! When it storms she tries to hide under my desk. She will even start whining. Amy, my spaniel, just ignores it all. She will come over looking for food or attention after Smokie hides, but storms don't bother her at all.

Why do people try to excuse a drunks behavior? Case in point, Mel Gibson. The guy got drunk, drove and insulted an entire culture. His apology was in the right direction. I hope he meant it. I keep hearing people defend the guy's actions. "He didn't mean it, he was drunk." "It's his dad's fault." That's a bunch of BS in my book. The guy is 100% responsible for the filth he spewed out. Having dealt with drunks most of my life, I know how one's thoughts can escape. Would these same people defend Gibson if he had molested a child while drunk? After he wouldn't do that while sober (I hope).

Why do movies have to be full of garbage? Movies today are full of so much junk. Why do we need 200 curse words in a movie?!?! Why is the sexual ineundo in children's movies? Why do movie makers have to make religious people look stupid?!?! Why do movies have to glorify evil?!?! Cause idiots pay to see it. I know :(

Some interesting quotes for the day

The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase; if you pursue happiness you'll never find it.
C. P. Snow English novelist & scientist (1905 - 1980)

Mix a little foolishness with your prudence: It's good to be silly at the right moment.
Horace Roman lyric poet & satirist (65 BC - 8 BC)

The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy you vote first and take orders later; in a dictatorship you don't have to waste your time voting.
Charles Bukowski US (German-born) author & poet (1920 - 1994)

It is never too late to give up our prejudices.
Henry David Thoreau, 'Economy,' Walden, 1854 US Transcendentalist author (1817 - 1862)

Of course I have to close with a picture of one of my critters.

Ho Hum

I quit my job last week. I don't blame the company as a whole for the awful treatment, just that particular group of management. Trying real hard not to be bitter or speak unkindly. I guess to accomplish that I need to shut up NOW.

It's been cooler the past couple of days. YEAH!!! We actually had some rain the night before last. The ground just soaked it up. The cats are becoming more active. Poor Callie must have lost about 5-7 pounds in this heat. She's never had to deal with heat before as she's always been in air conditioning. Big Baby! Here she is on the table...a spot where she's not allowed. She was just so cute that I had to take a picture. Ha Ha.

So I'm taking a bit of time off to regroup and recoup. My arthritis and fibromyalgia have been flaring pretty bad. Of course, I keep forgetting that I can't walk miles, climb hills and stairs, go up and down ladders at whim and a whole host of things which I used to be able to do and not regret. My problem is I try to too many of these activities in too short a time.

So I'm trying the Flylady thing again since I'm home and have the time. Maybe that messy table above will be clean by the time I find a new job. In between cleaning today, I've been playing on the computer. Mostly fidgeting with my new camera and starting a new blog. It's linked to the right. It's just for pictures. I am also trying to be more diligent with my other 2 blogs. We'll see how long this lasts.

The kid has been good for the past few days....guess that means he'll live out the week. *lol*

Oh and here is picture of Nollie our other cat. She was bound and determined to lay entirely on that paper towel. She's a fat cat (nearly 20 lbs) so it's not easy for her to scrunch up. I just had to laugh at her.

My dearest Lucky....you are missed.

My desktop

I took this picture last week at 10:30pm. I used the nightshot setting. I had to lighten it and add some contrast. I'm surprised at how it turned out. Posted by Picasa

More playing with the sunflowers

I clicked on sharpen.....I like it. I also remember what the 3rd thing I did before was...saturation. Posted by Picasa

Field of Sunflowers

I don't like sunflowers, per se. I love fields of them. I have 5 that I pass on my way to the "big city" or the only decent sized city around this area. I'm that rural folks :)

I played around with this picture a bit...cropped, contrast and something else I can't recall. I must be getting old....lol Posted by Picasa
