Tackle It Tuesday #5

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I actually did this one a while back, but I never got around to posting it. I thought I would share what I did this week.

My project was to rip out shelves in the cold storage room. The shelves were set up for canning jars, quart and pint size, to be stored. While we are working on getting produce from the garden, we probably will not do canning or much of it. I just can't envision us having the energy :)

Before with stuff just thrown on to get it off the floor.

Simple tools used to do this project.

Destruction in progress.....

Every other shelf has been removed. The shelves went from 7 inches apart to 17 inches. Now they are actually useful for me.

Food for the wood stove in the garage.

It's still a work in progress. I haven't figured out exactly where I am putting things, but for now they are off the floor. A few things will be getting donated, given away or sold. I've got a pile of stuff to donate and a pile of boxes to burn. One step at a time.

Sitting outside the cold storage room in the basement:
The boxes are food for the wood stove and the black bag has donation stuff in it.

More donation stuff.

Now I need to get the donation stuff loaded in the car (or van when it's fixed) to drop off one Sunday.

Stop by 5 Minutes For Mom to see what others are up to this week.

So many blogs, so little time

I have tons of blogs of online and real life friends that I love to visit. Some are about home schooling, parenting, Christian living, medical transcription, life in general, politics, decorating, health issues and even organ donation. My blog roll to the right isn't even all that I visit. If I put them all on there, the page would be a mile long. *lol*

So many places to visit, but never enough time to keep up with them even using a RSS feed reader. I try to read each one at least once a week, but lately it's been longer. So much good stuff out there.

I guess, I will just have to forgo doing something around the house. It can't be cleaning, cooking or yard work as I already slack in those areas. Can't give up my TV shows or my email lists or my message board forums. Hmmmm.... maybe I can give up sleep...nope, my body won't cooperate on that scale either. I guess I need a time turner like Hermione had in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. If I had one of those, I could get everything done :)

Just some rambling thoughts till next time :)

Hymn from today's worship service

More Holiness Give Me

by Phillip P Bliss

More holiness give me, more strivings within.
More patience in suffering, more sorrow for sin.
More faith in my Savior, more sense of His care.
More joy in His service, more purpose in prayer.

More gratitude give me, more trust in the Lord.
More zeal for His glory, more hope in His Word.
More tears for His sorrows, more pain at His grief.
More meekness in trial, more praise for relief.

More purity give me, more strength to o'ercome,
More freedom from earth-stains, more longings for home.
More fit for the kingdom, more useful I'd be,
More blessèd and holy, more, Savior, like Thee.

Organ Donation

While I have had the words DONOR on my driver's license for some time now, I finally went and registered with the
Donate Life America
website to donate my organs, tissues and eyes should I die. While MN does not require my family's consent, I have spoken to my son about this. I don't want him surprised by it at such a difficult time.

I've posted a couple of times about baby Ashley and at least once about Tricia. Both these beautiful lives are here today due to organ donation. Please consider giving the gift of life.

Blogger in Draft

Here is the homepage of Blogger in Draft. Evidently this has been around for a while. I found a post on Blogger Buzz from last June talking about it. I'm probably one of the last to know. *lol*

I think I will enjoy some of the new features such as scheduled post publishing and tons of new gadgets to add like the "search this blog" and subscription module. Of course, now I have to remember to log into Blogger in Draft rather than the regular Blogger. Hey with the new scheduled post publishing, I have no excuse for not whipping out those posts that I think of but don't want to do all in one day :)

Bare pantry

My son cleaned out our pantry (dry goods) about 10 days or so ago. My son, who is 24, works in Retail/Grocery so he's the king of expira...
