I haven't updated for a while...just haven't thought of what to say...lazy
Steve Irwin (the Crocodile Hunter) recently died. I'm saddened for his family and praying for them. I hope he had a relationship with Christ.
After reading a particular unpleasant (topic wise, not poster wise) thread on a message board, I had a hard time restraining myself from posting a rather heated response. I get to vent here because it's MY PLACE. *lol*Suffice it to say that boys do not need to be 'saved' from the mother's influence. ARGH!!!!! Ideally children need both parents (mom & dad). However, life is *rarely* ideal even when mom & dad are happily married. Sometimes dad has to work long hours to keep the bills paid and can't do the manly things like hunting, camping, wrestling. Sometimes dads don't like to those things. Boys will grow up to be MEN even if they don't do that stuff or if Heaven Forbid! mom does that stuff with them.
School recently started back up. We homeschool and are starting up this week if all goes according to plan. The best laid plans often go awry and I'm doubting that mine will get off the ground the way I dreamed they would especially with an reluctant teen.
Just started listing stuff on eBay. Boy, that's fun......NOT! Trying to make sure I put everything in the notes that need to be there to protect myself and let the potential buyer know what's what is stressful. I think that I'm gettting it down after a dozen listings. So far I've listed dvd's and non-school books, but I'm not sure where I'm going to list my school books with the teacher's editions. For those that don't know, eBay won't let anyone list a teacher's edition even for some obscure company that is NOT used by public school or most private schools. I get it's their domain and they get to make the rules. I still think it STINKS.
All children are a blessing from the Lord. I believe that with all my heart. Problem is not all children are a joy to experience. I'm grateful that I'm not around those children very much. Yeah, yeah I know some have said the same about my blessing. *lol*
The garden was a total flop this year. I really should have taken better care of it. Maybe put that fertilizer on it that we bought last fall. Oops! I knew we bought that stinky stuff for a reason. We got a few cherry & grape tomatoes. I am hoping the strawberry's and raspberry bush will produce next year. I really wanted to plant a bluebery bush, but that will have to wait until next year.
Why is it, when I can't get to the computer I have all the great thoughts to write but when I sit down they vanish?!?!
Random thoughts about single parenting, parenting, homeschooling, dealing with chronic illness, going back to college, working while trying to survive...just every day stuff. Just stuff that plagues me during the course of my day. Probably nothing of lasting interest to anyone but me.
