Too bad Microsoft won't take a lesson from Burger King

It would be nice if they would allow me to get my Office programs my way (like on a Whopper) instead of packaging programs in a group that they think will be useful.

I'm trying to update my Office programs, but the only way to get what I want is to either buy them separate or buy the Ultimate which is too expensive and has programs that I don't want or need.

Bah!!!!

But Melinda -- they won't make as much money if they do that!

What Jeff said -- if they only packaged what gets used, how would they make money off the other stuff?

Yes, I know they won't make money if they don't bundle the programs they way they do.

I have decided to forgo having one of the programs I had wanted. I am now the proud owner the updates I wanted as well as a couple extra programs I did not want. *lol*

Thanks for stopping by and commenting :)

Have you ever tried OpenOffice? It's an office suite that does everything MS Office does -- you can even save documents in MS Office format (.doc, .xps, .pps). And of course, it opens all MS documents. The only thing it doesn't have is a desktop publisher like MS Publisher.

The best part? It's free! It's what I've used for years, and I love it.

Go to openoffice.org and download it -- see if you like it.

Thanks for the suggestion Jeff. I have used Open Office in the past. My problem is that it's not compatible with most transcription platforms that I will be working with upon graduation.

The program (OneNote) that I decided to forgo was really a fluff program for me personally.

Again thank you for the suggestion.
