SkyWatch Friday

SkyWatch Friday is hosted by a team of bloggers (Tom, SandyCarlson, and Imac).  Be sure to stop by and visit them.

The following pictures were taken by pier in Pepin, Wisconsin on June 28 of this year.  I think I was kneeling in the first one in an attempt to get the entire tree.  That is why my photo is a bit lop-sided.  The hills on the other side are Minnesota.

Here is a close-up of the roots.  There were a few other trees growing like this.

In the following two frames, I am still around the tree, but concentrating on the bigger view here.  The clouds were moving pretty fast which changed the lighting nicely.

Thank you for visiting.  Please stop by SkyWatch Friday to find more participants.

love the pics, especially the last one where the water seems to have a life of it's own

The roots of the trees are pretty amazing, the way they're growing above grounds :)
Happy Weekend!

Beautiful photo for SWF. Wow the tree's roots looked like crawls/feet and seems like they just crawled towards the water. Amazing.

I love the tree root in the second shot!

Do you know that you can straighten your photos? Google has a great photo software tool that is easy to use and free! Picasa -- I love it!

The roots in the second shot looks like the fingers of a hand tying to pick up a stone!

Great shots all of them!

I love the lopsided effect. It's quite unusual and interesting.
This tree monopolizes the attention. It's a wonderful picture.

I like the effect the lopsided framing achieved!! The tree's roots are amazing - hanging on for grim death - or life in this case!!!

I'm glad to see that other people like trees as much as I do. I find them so interesting and those roots!!

Love that single tree clinging to the earth for dear life. Like life itself. It reminds me of the old Jewish sayin:"when you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!
